Today was a wonderful day at the Pettey, Trevino, Uzelac home :) My little buddy Isaac was baptized this morning! Check it out people---the newest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! He couldn't be more adorable if he tried :) Love you Isaac! I'm so proud of you!

The summer was a busy one, but it turned out lovely.

I had my 21st birthday and as it turns out, my birthday celebration lasted for a full week and a half :)

My Andy came home from his mission in South Africa. Man, I missed that boy!

The reunion was it's usual frenzied occasion, but as always, it was wonderful to be amongst family :)

Driving Lessons...

For the fourth, Cody and I did a lot of the traditional things; a family breakfast at Aunt Kath's, a swimming party at Aunt Bob's, out to see the fireworks at Davis High, but something I was not expecting was learning how to drive stick shift. Let's face it, it was a fairly traumatic experience. Luckily, I only killed the car a couple of times (I realize that's not much to gloat about, but seeing as it was my first time, I felt pretty good about it.) and even more luckily, I drive an automatic! :)

The Voice

As you probably guessed, my new favorite show is called "The Voice" For those of you who don't know what it is, The Voice is like American Idol, except for all the auditions are blind auditions. Four celebrity musical icons (aka--the coaches/Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine--aka, Maroon 5's lead singer---, Cee Lo Green--aka R&B sensation---, and Blake Shelton--aka Country Star)listen to the contenders without being able to look at the contestants and then turn their chairs around to finally view the singer and signify they are interested in working with the contestant. If more than one coach turns their chair, the contestant chooses the coach they would like to work with. After that, contestants are eliminated and the winner gets a contract with some recording agency. Aaaaanyways, casting for the second season is upon us and..........I'll be submitting a video audition shortly. Possibly. So! In the event that I actually end up on the show, and just for fun, which coach would you want to work with and why?

So the other day, Emily and I hit the town and whilst in my car, Emily discovered these kids meal toys that I had been needing to D.I., and insisted we stop at the park and play with them. As it turns out, they were a perfect source of entertainment----you'll see why.

And the next day, we went for a hike up through the Wind Caves.

And this is totally off the subject, but seriously. Tell me this is not my child. Had I not known I've never been pregnant and had I never seen the video of them ripping Iz out from Tia's stomach, I could totally believe she's mine.

Anyway, as I'm sure you can tell, this is not a recap of the past nine or so months that I've neglected to blog---I'm just starting anew. My goal is to have a post (at the very least) every other week, so STAY TUNED!

A city so nice, they named it twice! (NEW YORK!)

Well, yes, we have been home for two weeks, but better late than never, right? So Tia, Mom and I went out to New York to vay-cay with Tiana and we had SOOO much fun! The first half of the trip, we spent in Albany and then the four of us spent a few days in the heart of NYC! We went on a food tour, out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, to Ground Zero, to Time Square, saw two Broadway shows AND we were on Good Morning America! (The one thing my mom insisted we do!) :) So yes, we were busy girls, but we couldn't have had a better trip. (Except Tiana---she could have done without all the throwing up) :) Here are some pictures!

This was Tia and I on the plane in FIRST CLASS!! WOOT! :)

The next morning, we took a drive down to the Norman Rockwell Museum and I LOVED it!! It was super neat to see some of his original works, and his house and studio were transplanted onto the museum grounds!

The morning after that, we went to a little orchard/farm to get hot, fresh apple cider and doughnuts..........mmm.......I am craving some right now! :) Georgie loved looking at the "Punt-kins" :)

And we all had a lot of fun feeding the baby animals. This was probably my favorite morning :)

The next day, we headed to Manhattan! This is us at the beginning of our food tour. It was so interesting to learn some little, unknown facts about the area and taste some good food all along the way.

You may recognize this pizza place from a few scenes in Spiderman 2 and yes, the pizza was great!

Sisters in Time Square

After we went to Time Square, Mom took Tiana back to the hotel to throw up some more. Meanwhile, Tia and I went out on the town and ended up going to a comedy club and staying out till 2 the next morning :) IT. WAS. A. BLAST!!!

The next day, we hit the metro....
....which took us to a ferry that took us to Liberty Island :)

and Ellis Island (which was incredible by the way. If you're ever in town, make sure you get a guided tour of the place. It's well worth it)

Once we got back to the mainland, Tia and I went off on our own to Wallstreet and Ground Zero.

And as we were eating dinner at Carnegie Deli, MR. T WALKED IN!! :)

This was our shopping center--Canal Street---basically a 2nd Tijuana

and Mom was pooped after our shopping spree :)

And before we left the city, Tiana insisted we visit this incredible doughnut place wher doughnuts are........wait for it............$6 a piece!

Then we drove back to Albany to say goodbye to JC and Georgio. I miss that girl. Auntie loves you Gigi! :*

USU Take 2

So yes, I decided to move back up to Utah State and thus far, everything is going great! Here are a couple things I've been up to:

Emily and I went 2 hours early to the Movie on Old Main Hill night in order to secure our group some fantastic seats for Iron Man 2 :)

And nobody dared take our spot cause I was looking like a thug :)

We bought 2 fish to liven up the apartment. Neither of them lasted till the weekend.....shoot.

And I decorated my room! Way cute huh?

Oh and I made the "A" on the wall. Cardboard and fabric---yes, I 'm crafty like that :)

Labor Day at the Cabin :)

This was definitely the most memorable Labor day weekend I've had for a long time. The Trevinos (Jason), their friends, the Trevinos (Jared), the Uzelacs and I spent the weekend together at the cabin. We all had a blast! I can't even begin to tell you how good it felt just to be away with my family for awhile. I absolutely love my siblings and I am totally smitten with my nieces and nephews :) It's a good feeling to have :)

On Sunday, we made some lunch, grabbed some blankets and headed out to the reservoir for a scenic picnic! Everybody was loving the sunshine and the kids couldn't get enough of throwing rocks in the lake. :) What a great family outing!

HA! These three are the best of friends and that makes me so happy :) My favorite in this picture is Connor . I can totally hear him screaming in this picture :)

And.....Ryan caught a fish. A very dead fish........so gross.......

It seems that Kaylie got ahold of my camera and was going crazy with it while Auntie Ali wasn't looking. :) Oh that girl.....

And we got a call that a moose was out in the field, and even though I couldn't see it, it was super fun for all of the cousins and the little cousins to go out on a moose hunt together :)

Sumpin to Blog About!

I am the worst blogger ever, so here is my update for........the summer. (cough, cough) So here are a few things that happened.

Cody and I were pretty much joined at the hip

He took me to my very first uh.....dune buggy race?? Dang it. I still don't know what to call it or even what the race track is called. Larry Miller race.....way?......shoot! Well, you get the idea :) I loved it regardless of what it's called :)

I worked for a t-shirt company for a couple months and because of that, I encountered the most professional lemonade stand I had ever in my life seen.

Georgia had a swim birthday party at the Payne's

We had our annual river trip at the Snake. Isn't my Kawika the cutest?

Princess Kaylie hosted a Princess Birthday Extravaganza! It was so fun! All the little girls came dressed up as princesses and Connor was Prince Spiderman :) Awww....I love those kids :)

Somebody played a trick on the Keddington cars aaaaand Cody ended up loving it :) It is absolutely incredible that someone can light up so much over a honk :)

Ty got in a horrible bike accident last week, but have no fear; he is on the mend! Poor Ty Ty :'(

And of course, today's venture; wart removal. Ty and I both had warts that needed to be addressed a long time ago, so today we had them frozen off. Oh and Ty had a mole scraped off his back. All in all, it was a thoroughly entertaining appointment :)

Is my thumb supposed to bubble up like that or have a gaping hole in the middle?....

Fun With the Grandkids

I've had so much fun with my nieces and nephews lately. Here are a couple things that have happened:

1. My Gigi came out to Utah for a couple days. We have missed her!

2. Mom, The Trevino's, the Liljenquists, the Uzelacs and I went out to Cafe Rio for lunch one day

3. Jay had a fireman birthday party at the fire station. Everybody, including the adults, had a blast. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY!

4. Kaylie and Connor helped Dad with some yard work

5. Mom and I got to go to Isaac's soccer game. I have never been so entertained by a little-league soccer game in my whole life :)

Isaac is apart of the Black and Yellow Warriors, so at the first of the game, I asked him to give me his best Warrior pose. From then on, all throughout the game, he would randomly turn to me and flex his muscles :)

Aggies and Accidents

Last weekend I decided that it was about time I went to go see my roommates in Logan. I had THE BEST time! We hit a couple dance parties, caught a Stomp Show, went to WalMart, ate out, bowled, and even had time for a photoshoot! :) It was the bomb!

E-Ball and I were last year's Bowling Champions at the Fun Park, so for fun, we got our bowling team back together for a couple rounds of bowling :)

And then..........

A few days after I'd' gotten home, my friend and I were in another car crash. This is our second crash in a 6 week period, but what really sucks is that I was just getting over the whiplash :) Poor Tashie. I really did feel horrible for her.

'Member this? This was our crash in February. Monte died around 8:30 in the morning on his way to take us to school. The damage was so bad that he had to be taken to the junk yard. Thanks for saving us Monte!

This was the second crash, in Natasha's mom's van. We were T-Boned at an intersection---not pretty.

SHOUT-OUT TO NATASHA: Thanks to your quick thinking and immediate action, we were able to make it out of both of these wrecks alive and almost completely unharmed. Tash--you're the greatest. Thanks for saving me twice!

For the past little while, I've been increasingly.......devistated that I'm at home, while all my friends are up at Utah State having a ball. Don't get me wrong, I do love being at home. I get to see Cody nearly every day, I get to be apart of my family's lives, and I get all the luxuries of home--what's not to love? But every now and then, especially when I see pictures of their most recent adventures on Facebook, I wish I was apart of it :'(

On January 15, 2010, my precious Whisper went to (as Kaylie says) live with Jesus. She had been so sick for so long that I think I was prepared for the worst, weeks beforehand. It still didn't make it any easier, (parting from one of your best friends never is), and though I wish more than anything she was here, I know it was her time to go. Rest in peace Whisper Kitty. I love you :*

It's Back-to-School time!

It's back-to-school time again, and yes, I'm still in school. This semester, I decided to transfer from USU to Weber State University. I was really nervous about the transition to be honest, but it's turned out to be great! All of my professors are NUTS, I have Tuesdays and Thursdays off, and I get to see my Codylicious every day. It is the perfect set up for me! I do miss my roommates like crazy and I long for the party school atmosphere of Utah State, but Weber is pretty dang awesome, and I'm loving every minute of it!

Mom had me make her some back-to-school treats for her Young Women, so this is what we came up with. We had Smarties sticking up out of a wad of Dum Dum suckers, and the saying was, "Be a Smartie and rise above the Dum Dums this year at school!" Funny huh?

Cody and I got to watch Charlie and Jay two weeks ago

Jay was mezmorized by Kung Fu Panda. We ended up watching it 3 times that night.

The week after that, we got to babysit Kay and Con.

I think someone was having a little bit too much fun with the camera... :)

A bee was hiding in my laundry, and when I went to wash my dirty clothes, it jumped out and stung me! It was the second time in my life I'd been stung by a bee, and it was every bit as bad as I had remembered. I went running outside, looking for relief (mud), and decided I needed a mud mask too :)

My Whisper kitty is getting so old, but really, she's in the best shape of her life. She loves Farmington!

A few weeks ago, we cut down a bunch of dead trees in the backyard.

It's been awhile since I've blogged, so I've just decided to make one HUGE blog, and then continue on as I always have......blogging every now and then. So

LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!

JULY 1-5

SCHOLFIELD

For the 4th of July, I went with the Keddingtons to their cabin in Scholfield, next to Strawberry Reservoir. It was my first time water-skiing and you could say I was having a hard time with it :)

I have about 5 other videos that are exactly like this. I never managed to get up, but there's always a next time

The Brysons are friends of the Keddingtons, so they joined in the fun too. This was one of their tents. It took FOREVER to figure out. I bet we honestly messed around with it for a good hour and a half before we got it right.

It turned out pretty dang cool though

Then we hit the water! Cody told me that expert water-skiiers don't even get their hair wet---and wouldn't you know it, after Cody finished skiing, there wasn't even a drop of water on his head.

JULY 9-12

We went on our annual family vacation to run the Snake. It was a blast, as usual-and we had two new-comers along for the trip. (Cody and Matthias)

JULY 19

MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!

This year marks my final year in the "teens"!! I'm 19!!! How wonderful :) We celebrated...ME!....by means of a Sunday dinner with the family.

JULY 20

MY BIRTHDAY!

All day I kinda just did what I wanted. Went out for a Pepsi and swimming with Mom, did some birthday shopping and relaxed out in the yard. It was wonderful. Then Cody surprised me with (my favorite) red roses and took me out to dinner to a super fancy restaurant in Salt Lake where they even had gelato for dessert!!! Yes, I said GELATO!!! AAAHHH!!! I was in heaven! I love that Codylicious-he is so good to me :) As you can tell, my birthday was absolutely flawless.

Cody and I celebrated the 24th together by going to the Bountiful parade and watching the Muler Park fireworks from his Uncle's house. It was a fabulous 24th of July!

I babysat Kay and Con while Tia went to Scout Camp. When I told Kaylie to make a funny face, this is the face she pulled :) I couldn't stop laughing!

JULY 29

JULY 31-AUGUST 2

THE REUNION!

On Saturday morning at the reunion, a bunch of us took the kids to the dairy farm down the street. We got to feed all the calves and see how they milk the cows. It was so much fun! All of the adults were loving it just as much as the kids were. This was a first at the reunion, and I'm willing to bet it won't be the last time we help out the farm.

Something Delicious for Codylicious

A couple days ago, I decided that just purely out of randomness, I wanted to make a surprise for Cody (AKA: Codylicious) :) This was the ending result. Cute huh? I loved it! Before he or any of his family woke up, I snuck these sugar cookie flowers over to his house and left them sitting in their garden.

When Cody finally found them (his morning chore was to weed the garden) the first thing he said was, "I've never had a girl give me flowers before." :)

Later on that day, we went shooting with his little brother Colton and Colton's friend Joey. Funniest thing though----Colton and Joey were the first to shoot, and it wasn't until Cody threw the 5th clay pigeon that either of them got it. (This was odd cause Colton is a master when it comes to shooting.) After 10 or so more shots, they handed the guns over to me and Cody. I got it on my first try! What do you know? The blind girl can shoot!! :) (Believe me I know. . . . . blind, 18 year-old girl+loaded weapon=disaster. Doesn't sound good does it?)

On a Whim.....

Ryanne, Jenny, Tia, the kids, and I got together for a swim day. I had almost completely forgotten my camera is an underwater camera till this very day. I was very happy with the results, however, I'm kind of upset cause I think my camera takes better pictures under water than above it. (sigh)

On Sunday, as I was returning home from my voice recital, my roommates picked me up and we all went to the park to have some fun. We ended up playing some cards, snacking on jellybeans and taking tons of jumping pictures. (Mostly for Brynne's benefit. She LOVES jumping pictures) This is our last week of our Freshman year of college and we still have no idea where the time has gone. Good thing we're all living together next semester too huh?!

Spring Break was a fantastic affair ! I really loved it. I spent a few Spa nights with my friends Natasha and Sade, watched a few soccer games and a couple movies with Cody and had a blast with Tia and her kids. Even though I wasn't in Hawaii with my parents (I know-lame huh?), I had a fabulous Spring Break :)

Tia hired Natasha and I to be gymnastics instructors at Flips for a night! We had so much fun with the kids-however this one event helped me to determine that I will never have children. Ever.

Valentines Day: February 14, observed in honor of St. Valentine as a day for the exchange of valentines and other tokens of affection. :) My tokens of affection were as follows:
1. A romantic dinner up on the balcony (It looked a lot like this except I used candles instead of the champaign bottle) :)

2. Two tickets to Desert Star to see their show "Home School Musical"

3. A Romeo Bear from Build-A-Bear

These were his three surprises (Yes, I said SURPRISES. He had no idea what we were going to do that night). People, I've found that it's all about the presentation. I set up a romantic dinner-a relatively easy thing to do....get a nice tablecloth, candles, nice china to eat on (no paper plates), and glass bowls for chip dip and stuff like that. (Mom cooked. I wasn't about to attempt to mess everything up with my pitiful cooking skills) Then I presented his second surprise by providing him with directions to our next destination, Desert Star. When he didn't recognize the address, I handed him our tickets. His face lit up :) The next part was something I had been wrestling with for a solid week. How to give him the bear. After much debate, I delivered the bear to the Desert Star Theatre that morning along with very specific instructions. During the intermission, one of the actors always announces birthdays, anniversaries, etc, so after the show, the actor finished announcing birthdays and then asked if there was a Cody Kettleburg in the theatre. Cody's face went from being relaxed and happy, to completely blank :D Oh gosh-it was FAN-TASTIC!!! He raised his hand (We were very easily spotted by everyone in the theatre cause we were seated on the front row) and the actor announced that Cody was a newly returned missionary and that he was here with his "Long lost love". (Inside joke to all who saw a previous blog post of mine). The actor then told Cody they had a gift for him, and right then, our waitress came up behind us and placed the bear in his arms. Of course you can imagine the rest of the audience :) Awww....! Anyways though, it turned out to be a great Valentines day-that's for sure :)

Bear Lake!

Let me tell you the story of my very first trip to Bear Lake......
One Saturday, two of my roommates and I left Logan for a little while to visit Bear Lake

It was my first time to ever see the lake and boy, was it beautiful!

We stopped at the monument overlooking the lake and decided to set aside some time for stunts....

and a photoshoot!

On our way to search for the shoreline, we stopped at a.....beach.....we quickly left.

We ended up having to pursue the shoreline on foot

and along the way, we found patches of cat tails!

After much trudging through the hardened snow, WE FOUND IT!!! and of course we.....

had another photoshoot :)

and made snow angels!

As we were leaving, we saw a flock of geese! (Any Brian Reagan fans?)

We plowed our way back through the snow and had stopped to rest, but Emily was getting a little too friendly.....so....yeah, that was short lived.

Before we left town, we stopped for a bite to eat at a local, old fashioned restaurant. Mmmm.....Delicious!

but we still weren't done messing around! I pushed Emily into the river.....almost.....

But it started to get dark, so we headed for home.

To Be or Not to Be

So tonight I had my first voice lesson through the University. I got along with my instructor really well and after a couple warm ups, she asked me to sing for her, just so she could see exactly what she was working with. After I sang, she asked what my major was. I told her that I am undeclared, and then she told me I should consider being a Vocal Performance major. She told me that I was incredibly talented and that I had amazing potential, and even though I'm not fully trained, I already sounded just as good, if not better than half of the people already going through the program. Coming from a person with a Masters in Vocal Performance, I was quite flattered. She told me about a scholarship opportunity, where if I ended up getting it, all my schooling would be paid for. I explained to her that I already had a full-ride scholarship, and she told me that in that case, the program would pay me to go to school. How dang cool is that? But here's my dilemma-it's actually been a toss up since I got into college-do I become a musics major or not? So many decisions.....

After being completely embarrassed by my last blog entry, I have decided to cast off my hesitation (for the time being) and write again. The last entry, which I quickly erased, actually contained some harmless information, so I'll start there. My Christmas break was fantastic! Not only did I manage to hang out at the cabin, but I also got to attend a couple parties, and go on a few dates as well. Not bad eh? To name more specifics, I had the chance to go on a sister's skiing trip with Tia and Tiana (It was my first time skiing! I had a ton of fun, and my feet didn't have to be amputated from the lack of circulation-so that was a definite plus) :), I got my new license! (My wallet was stolen a couple weeks ago), and it was my first time participating in the New Year's 5k run! It was a blast!
Then my parents took me back up to Logan to start the new semester, and as it turns out, I completely love my new schedule! Not only does it force me to make new friends, but it...........forces me to make new friends! :) Isn't it interesting that a simple change in schedules can accommodate you to meet the most fascinating people? Oh! And my roommate, Jillian, moved out the day I came back, so now I have my very own room! Yeah, there are days when it seems like the room is super silent-SOLUTION!!! Pump up the music!!! :) I do miss her though. Since beginning the new semester, I have gone out on one date with a very nice, newly returned missionary named Cody. I will not mention his last name in the event that he Googles it and finds my blog again. I refuse to make that same mistake twice :) Anyway, we will be going out again this weekend and...............(hesitation)........for more details, just call me :) I have plenty of them :)

I have finally reached the week of finals and just like every other college student, have started cramming in the studying like there is literally no tomorrow (Kinda wishing that were true :) Just kidding!) Anyways, I believe the stress of the upcoming week has punched my immune system right in the gut-because alas-I am sick. This is the first time I've been sick since I've come up to Logan, and of course it had to be during finals week :) Oh well......I need to get back to the cramming.

A Delightful Surprise

On Saturday I had flowers delivered to me. Unfortunately, nobody was at home, so they left a notice telling me to come pick up my flowers on Monday. For two days I wondered who could have possibly sent me flowers. When I finally got them on Monday morning, I found that they were sent by Dr. Newey, my oral surgeon :) A little strange........ :) ha ha ha! It made me laugh but for sure I love my flowers. They are beautiful!

Thanksgiving Tooth Troubles

During the break, I went home and had my wisdom teeth taken out. It was not fun at all-especially for Thanksgiving.

Day 1: Bleeding like crazy! And always putting ice on it whenever I could.

Day 2: I felt pretty good. The swelling was not bad at all and I even went to Jenny Payne's wedding. Yes, I was still on intense pain killers, and it was incredibly painful to hug people. I've never realized how much people like to hug at weddings. Probably not the best place for me to be the day after I get my wisdoms out. Oh well-I'm glad I went

Day 3: EXPLOSION! Everything was so much worst that day-Thanksgiving day. The pain was worst, the swelling was worst and the bruising set in. I managed to eat some mashed potatoes, but that's all I could handle at the Thanksgiving feast. I didn't even recite my annual poem :(

TWILIGHT!

This morning, Emily and I woke up early so we could go buy movie tickets for Twilight before they were all sold out. OH! MY! GOSH! If you loved the books, then for sure you will love this movie! AAAHHHH!!! EDWARD! Yeah-for sure I'm still drooling :) Ha ha ha!

Oh and for sure we sat on the front row. My neighbor pretty much hated my guts. I guess after the squealing, whistling, and the occasional outburst of "MARRY ME EDWARD!", he had plenty of reason to :)

Once again, I have neglected to keep up to date on my blog. There have been a couple things that have happened since I last blogged on Thursday.

First of all, I told you it was Anniversary on having my eyes get better. Well, I was determined for Thursday to be another great day for me. I had heard about this competition that was going on on campus (Bestor's Best Singer Competition-it is equivalent to American Idol, but it only happens here in Utah. Kurt Bestor, a world famous composer, pianist, and singer, is searching for a whole new sound for his 20th Annual Christmas Concert.) Anyway-at first I thought, "Naw-I won't go audition. I know I won't get it anyway. Why try?", but then I remembered that I needed to make it a great day. At the very last second, I auditioned! (I sang "Amazing Grace". I felt it was perfectly fitting for the day. "Was blind, but now I see"! :) ) Way random for me, I know, but I am so glad I went. I didn't make it to the next round, but hello! I couldn't care less. It was a great experience! Kurt told me that he loved my voice and especially enjoys the richness of it. He also told me that some people try to sound like their favorite singers, but he said that was not my case. I was totally original and he really liked that. What more could I ask for? Maybe next time though......
Oh and after I left my audition, a news reporter interviewed me. Oh yes-I was in the newspaper!

When I got home from classes and the audition, I came home to this scene.

My first thought was, "Oh crap. Someone stole our couches!". Then my roommates informed me that we were just getting brand new couches :)

Later on that night, Brynne, Emily, and I went to Enrichment night, and I had so much freaking fun! I found some new friends in my ward so....yeah that was pretty much fantastic. Afterwards, the three of us went to visit Brynne's friend D.J. Brynne and D.J. studied for their Biology test while D.J's roommate, Emily, and I played Rockband. That was also great. I've never played it before and I pretty much rocked the house with the vocals :) Can you tell I was pretty proud of myself? :) We went outside and found that Emily's car had been booted. Everyone was laughing except Brynne. :) We got the boot taken off after we had talked to the "booter" and discovered it was all just a misunderstanding. Oh happy day! Man-what a great day!

A Day to Remember

Well, last night I was talking to my little bro, Ty, and he reminded me that today is a fairly significant day in my life. A year ago today, I was scheduled for a doctor's appointment with my eye doctor, Dr. Bernstein at the Moran Eye Center. In that appointment, my doctor told me that he had no idea how the Trevino kids do it, but just like Jason, my eyes had miraculously gotten better. My vision had gone from 20/200 vision to 20/80 and with corrective lenses, 20/60. Dr. Bernstein then told me he wanted me to go out an get a driver's license. This day absolutely changed my life. So-Happy Anniversary to me!

So thanks to my phenomenal cousin, Andy, I have just found my new favorite website! Jib Jab! It makes for a great time, and I'm going to reiterate what Ands said on his blog-for this upcoming Christmas season, visit elfyourself.com. I sent the elf I made to some of my family, and so far, they all seem to love it! Oh-and yes I'm one of those people who listens to Christmas music before Thanksgiving :) It's not because I don't absolutely love having a day of Thanks (even though I'm not going to celebrate it quite as traditionally this year, because, indeed, I'm getting my wisdom teeth out two days before. Oh yes-my Thanksgiving dinner will consist of nothing but mashed potatoes. And my Thanksgiving poem that I recite every year will probably sound a lot like a drunken girl with a lisp. I think it'll be a great event!) but it's because I just absolutely love Christmas music! It's just.......the most wonderful time of the year! (name that song!) :)

The African Children's Choir

On Tuesday night, I had the privilege of watching the African Children's Choir perform right here in Logan. It was truly the most incredibly rewarding cultural performance I've ever seen. I sat in the front row, which proved to be the best seat in the house. During the show, a few children came down from off the stage and had some of the people in the front row stand up and dance with them. I was one of them. I loved every second of this performance-I just wanted to take every one of those kids home! (All of these kids are orphans or were abandoned. The African Children's Choir performs all around the world, and with the money they raise, the choir gives back to the kids by providing each child with food, shelter, and a proper education.) I wanted to post a video of the choir, but unfortunately, my computer skills are not up to par. Until I get that figured out, you'll find off to the left side of my blog a small sequence of videos. The last two clips are actual video clips they showed us at the performance. Please watch them! These children's happiness and enthusiasm are absolutely contagious. You really can't help but smile

Weekend at Bernie's

As my title implies, i had a pretty crazy weekend-I loved it! I decided to go home for the weekend, which is good cause I hadn't gone home for about a month. I expected my Friday night at home to be quiet. It didn't turn out that way. My pal, Natasha, picked me up to go hang with a couple of our friends from B-Town (I know theses names might not mean anything to you, but they do to me-Jake Taylor, Angie Madson, Sara Busk, Andy Simmonds, Natasha, and me-oh and I saw Corinne for the first time since she's been back. Man I love that girl! I'm so glad she's home.) We visited for a couple hours, went Christmas caroling, watched the new episode of the Office (which is hysterical by the way-if you have time-go watch it) and the ending of Freaky Friday. At that point, Natasha and I went back to Farmington and had a sleepover. The next day, Dad, Mom and I picked up the Cobalt from the repair shop. Then we split ways and Mom and I went shopping at the Gateway and got me ready for the upcoming 10 degree Logan weather. We stopped by the Beattie/Simmonds house to say hello to everyone there, and then we went to the Hall house for a Bridal Shower for Julianne Gardner. After that, Mom and I went grocery shopping and as soon as I dropped Mom off, I headed to Target and splurged on myself a little :) There's no harm in that every once in a while :) When I got home, Tia and the kids were there, and Mom and Dad were leaving, so she offered to hang out at her place for awhile. We went to the D.I. where Tia took advantage of the system-free stuff-and after walking around at Lowe's, we went to the Uzelac home and had dinner. After dinner, a show, and Kaylie styling my hair, we had to go pick up Ty. He'd just gotten back from a big swim meet down in St. George with the school (he did really well) so we headed over to Viewmont. Tia then dropped Ty and I off at home. Sunday was just like any other Sunday though. Church, dinner, and then Mom and Dad drove me all the way back to Logan. What a great weekend! (Oh and if you're wondering what this picture has to do with anything, it's just a free shirt I got at the GAP except I altered it a little bit by adding in a name. If you had the experience of seeing the present I got from my dad Ray on my 14th birthday, you'll get why this is freaking hilarious :) Enough said

There was a Masquerade downstairs, which ended up being......less than fun, so since we were all dressed up, we decided to go have a photo shoot all around campus. It was SO much fun! (Oh! P.S. Halloween & the Howl!

Halloween was great! I had so much freaking fun being Audrey. The Howl was just a great. Providing plenty of entertainment-trying to guess people's costumes. The hot costumes of the year were Michael Phelps, Ninja Turtles, Care Bears, and Playboy Bunnies. Oh dear. There was tons of dancing and lots of activities going on on all floors of the TSC. I got there around 9 and didn't leave till the party ended at 1 A.M. Afterwards, my roommates went to Walmart and rented a scary movie. It was the perfect way to end Halloween

Yea, Emily changed her costume at the last possible moment. Instead of Tickle Me Elmo, she became Disney's Ariel, the Little Mermaid. The crayon is one of my roommates' best friends. Every other week, she comes to have a sleepover up here at Utah State.

Yeah-we Aggies know how to party) Anyway-we found some great costumes at Logan's very own D.I. I'm being Audrey Hepburn and Emily is going to be "Tickle Me Elmo". Sweet action huh?

Tonight a couple of the people in our building and I went to go see the Mr. USU Pageant. It was truly incredible.....I haven't been this entertained in weeks :) There was a swimwear portion, an evening wear portion, a talent portion and a question and answer portion. Overall, I think it turned out to be a great night for all. Congrats to the new Mr. USU-Tyler Kidd!

Our roommate Kylee had gone all day without having one of us say, "Happy Birthday!". (This was all strategy and we felt horrible, but it had to be done). Then our roommate Liz took her to Chili's where the rest of us waited for her. It was a fantastic surprise birthday and everyone in the Chili's was getting into the spirit of it. Happy Birthday Ky!

Well I had my first choir concert tonight. I think it went over pretty well. Craig Jessop was the first audience member to give us a standing ovation so that was pretty awesome. Later on, my roommates Emily Ball and Jillian Nilsson went on an adventure around the apartment buildings. We were craving candy bars, but none of the buildings supplied them. We were pretty bummed out-not gonna lie

A couple pals from B-Town decided to come up and visit from B-Town. It was a fantastic reunion! We all went out to dinner together, visited other Bountiful people around campus, and then went to the Aggie Village Talent Show. And afterwards we had our own dance party out in the parking lot. It was a very productive evening :)

True Aggie Night!

So True Aggie Night is a night that happens every full moon at midnight-it's where you get on top of the "A" in front of Old Main and the tradition is you have to kiss a True Aggie to become a True Aggie. No, I did not participate this time. Also that night, we went to Walmart and found a stray cat-my roommate Jillian named him Suitcase. He was our pet for a whole hour :)
